BPC 157 (pentapeptide) is a gut peptide clinically active in scavenging free radicals. Unlike other peptides, BPC 157 is effective without a carrier. BPC 157 is a stable gastrinal peptide with anti-ulcer and wound and fistula healing properties.
Original Research Institute:
The original BPC-157 research team is closely linked to the Croatian research team.
Principal investigator: Almost all existing data on BPC-157 comes from the same research team in Croatia.
Related institutions: Early clinical trials conducted by Croatian pharmaceutical company PLIVA in the 2000s. Additionally, Slovenian pharmaceutical company Lek Pharmaceuticals d.d. is also involved in research on the synthesis of its analogs.
Clinical trials:
There are clinical trials, but the number is very small and the quality is low, far from meeting mainstream medical standards.
Currently, there are no completed large-scale human clinical trial data.
Synthesis method:
Solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and Fmoc/Boc strategies are both acceptable.
